As Lexus’s first compact five-door hatchback hybrid, the Lexus CT200h’s core power source is a 14.4V, 6500mAh nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) hybrid battery pack. This battery, specifically designed for the CT200h’s hybrid system, utilizes Ni-MH technology, boasting high power density (850 watts/kg) and energy density (43 Wh/kg), with an energy efficiency exceeding 85% at 25°C. The battery pack consists of 168 individual cells with a total voltage of 201.6V. A sophisticated battery management module ensures optimal voltage, current, and temperature for optimized performance and extended lifespan.

In practical applications, this battery pack works in conjunction with a 1.8L Atkinson cycle engine, enabling various driving modes (such as pure electric start, low-speed driving, and acceleration assist). An energy recovery system regenerates kinetic energy during braking or deceleration to charge the battery, eliminating the need for external charging. Mounted above the rear axle, the battery pack optimizes weight distribution and maximizes interior space. In addition, this battery pack boasts high reliability, with some aftermarket replacement models offering a 3-year warranty. It is suitable for 2010-2014 CT200h models requiring battery replacement, helping the vehicle restore its excellent fuel economy (MIIT combined fuel consumption 4.6L/100km) and low emissions.
